Employment Type : Temporary Full Time Remuneration : - Hours Per Week : 38 Requisition ID : CAM29842 Position Tagline We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and committed candidates for Emergency Trainee - Stage 1 positions at The Sutherland Hospital for the 2027 clinical year. Where you'll be working The Sutherland Hospital is a 375 bed Major Metropolitan Teaching Hospital affiliated with the University of NSW, located in the Sutherland Shire 25 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. A 44 bed Emergency Department which includes 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated Adult and Paediatric Fast Track areas, an 8 bed ED Short Stay Unit, a collocated Radiology Department with CT scanner. The addition of 60 new acute inpatient beds, including 6 additional ICU beds and a 16 bed General Medical Unit. There are 24hr diagnostic services and excellent support from Mental Health, ICU and community/aged care services and nursing staff. Sutherland Hospital provides a 24/7 Interventional Cardiology service. Inpatient services include most subspecialties; General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Oncology, Renal, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Mental Health. • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category. • Selected into Fellowship training or has applied for Fellowship training by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM). • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment. • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the health care team. • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and other members of the health care team. • Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environments. • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. • Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
